In this story we’re changing the perspective from visions, missions, metrics, and all the “serious” design talk to what makes Studio Direction tick: the everyday moments that define us.

Yes, persisting through business challenges brought us together, but behind all that noise is the essence of everyday life. After all, most of us spend about a third of our day with the people we work with, some remote, some in person, those interactions make up nearly every weekday.

So what does life at StudioDirection feel like?

We feel seen in this office—like when someone makes you a coffee (or cocoa), simply because they notice you’ve been stuck in back-to-back meetings or glued to your computer screen for hours.

In Serbian culture, sharing a meal carries special meaning. We’re taught that those who eat together, stay together. It’s the same warm feeling when someone surprises you with a freshly baked tart, even if you didn’t ask for it. Sure, making a dessert might take an hour or two, but it’s always worth it when it disappears in just seven minutes.

Alongside dining together, another important part of our local culture is drinking and dancing together. Lucky for us, we’ve got a musician on the team. For the ultimate mind-body balance, apply Stefan’s recipe: “Come to my band’s performance so we can dance it out together!”

Our team mentality carries over into sports, too—like when we cheered and waited at the finish line for a colleague running a half marathon.

And let’s be honest, nothing brings people closer than traveling together. Spending the whole day side by side? It shows a completely different side of everyone, because, office-you and all-day-together-you aren’t always the same.

It might sound like a cliché, but we truly make memories together.

Our core

Integrity means stepping in when it counts, knowing it’s not just their work—it’s OUR work. Sure, clients play a role; they make decisions, but it’s our job to defend our case. The colors, brand elements, and patterns we recommend during the brand design phase must work seamlessly with the Dashboard design delivered in the product design phase. The lines between our team members’ specialties are intentionally blurred—because it’s everyone’s responsibility, not just the person actively working on it.

Dependability goes beyond simply working in the same space; it means showing up for each other when deadlines are tight, revisions feel endless, and unexpected feedback shakes things up.

No matter the challenge, we face it head-on with optimism. We go back to the beginning, rethink, challenge assumptions, and start fresh. Together.

A curated group of individuals

We’re a compact group where every individual shapes the direction of our work in meaningful ways. Each contribution resonates, influencing not only our projects but the team’s collective success. That’s the beauty of a small team.

We trust one another to give it our all, day in and day out. If that means adding 350 pages of course specs to the CMS, we’re on it. Adding 350 pages of course specs to the CMS? We’re on it. There’s no employee ID or cookie-cutter job description. It’s not for everyone, but for us, it works.
