The challenge
Our team has helped build responsive web application that will enable intuitive and data rich search functionality to help renters find their perfect home. Our work included building a website, adding sophisticated property listing engine in the backend combined with Google API and additional calculation tools for the end user to interact with.

Brand design
As a natural part of the brand identity, the presentational website has the purpose to present the idea to potential partners, future investors and the broad public. Nothing fancy, nothing complex, it’s out there to complete one task: business card of the idea. One pager built in Webflow enabled us to ship in a day (investor meeting helped us put in the 6th gear) and iterate quickly by changing sections, copy, images in a matter of minutes. A/B testing executed properly!
Product design
Speaking in the language of the digital product world: responsive web application for property search was the key pillar of the MVP. Our team has helped build responsive web application that enables intuitive and data rich search functionality to help renters find their perfect home. We were guided by the offline process where a family is looking for their first home: exploring other property search engines, visiting properties or just walking through the familiar neighborhood and finding the building that catches their eye.Product needed to be easily accessible (and the key is in everyone’s pockets), highly responsive with the intuitive search functionality and precise and rich search result as an output. This is the key user journey and a basis for other features that add more value.
Product development
Since Pathway concept considers highly personalised offering, everything starts from the user: they’re shaping the offering based on their needs. This first step in the user journey was designed to inform them and encourage them to play around with numbers, sliders and the interactive map. Main challenge was to educate the user, explain what will be the result of their actions and how to analyse them. Our job was to make this initial interaction as straightforward as possible since the concept is new on the market and a user can’t just google it to discover more.Another goal was to provide enough information and yet not to overwhelm users when introducing new concepts.
User testing, product and idea validation
Early validation of the idea, USP and design prototype has (once again) shown importance in the early stages of the product exploration. We’ve engaged testers from User testing platform in the series of unmoderated and moderated sessions to discover how they understand the concept compared to the existing market offering and how intuitive they find user experience on the web application. Conclusions from several iterations were used to refine the UX and how the USP is communicated.
Key findings
Non technical founders need guidance and clarity in the process of digital project design and development. They want to know how we translate their inputs to the language of designers and developers, they’re interested to know how we think and execute every feature and they want to understand the rationale behind decisions made even in the cases when that is different from their initial angle. As specialists we can change their perspective with solid arguments.For completely new ideas, obvious, simple solutions seem to work the best. In order to educate and get the buy in start from something familiar and intuitive and then introduce novelty. A map is more comprehensive visualisation that brings together.As specialists, we are biased. Product design that seems obvious and straightforward to us might not be observed the same by the people who hear about the product for the first time. We need to reconsider literally every step in the journey and make it more obvious so the user gets clarity with as much ease as possible.
