Tanari is the first self‑owned Bitcoin finance platform - a simple, secure app where you keep full control of your Bitcoin while storing, sending, and managing your crypto with ease.

The challenge
Our product design team joined forces with a highly experienced group of crypto veterans, supporting them in a true startup spirit. When the technology was ready, they found the edge and, together with us, shaped their vision under the Tanari brand - creating a simple, secure app that gives users full control over their Bitcoin.

Branding
Introduce a completely new brand to the market and in the Web3 space was a first thing to address. We decided to use the brand name itself as the logo: simple, strong, and instantly recognizable. For the colors, we went with a vibrant, modern, and fresh palette to reflect the energy and innovation of the crypto space while standing out from competitors. One of my favorite details is the device we designed, pulled from the ‘T’ in Tanari - it’s a subtle, flexible element that can be used across the brand’s visuals to create consistency and a distinct personality.
Product discovery and strategy
We started by interviewing the founding team to uncover pain points and opportunities in how people interact with Web3 applications.
During the Discovery phase, our strategy for the Tanari app was focused on making it genuinely approachable for everyone: not just the typical tech-savvy crypto users. We designed the onboarding to be easy and intuitive, so beginners in Web3 feel confident from the very first step.
Key user journeys, especially transactions, were made straightforward, ensuring users always know what to do and what’s happening with their Bitcoin. At the same time, we needed to integrate educational resources throughout the app, allowing novices to learn as they go without ever feeling lost.
Product design
Once we defined the strategy, the next step was bringing it to life in Figma. We translated our approach into a comprehensive design file that included every screen, component, and interaction.
From there, we created interactive high-fidelity prototypes to simulate the real experience of the app: from onboarding to transactions and educational resources. This allowed us to test and refine the flows, ensuring that the app feels intuitive, approachable, and aligned with the strategy we defined in the Discovery phase.
Seeing the prototypes in action made it easy for both the team and early users to understand how every detail supports the goal of making Web3 simple and accessible for everyone. The interactive high-fidelity prototypes, executed as very realistic simulations of the actual product in use, enabled us to validate the design with internal stakeholders and early adopters.
Design system
A well-structured design system was critical to the efficiency and consistency of our product design process. By defining reusable components, styles, and interactions, we were able to support a large number of user journeys without losing visual or functional coherence.
The design system also played a key role in feature validation: because every new element was built on a tested, standardized foundation, we could quickly prototype and test features, ensuring they work as intended before development even begins.
Web design and Webflow development
The website is a non-divisible part of Tanari’s online presence, serving as the brand’s first introduction to the world. It’s designed to help users discover the mobile app, while also supporting lead generation: whether it’s signing up for the app’s waiting list, attracting potential partnerships, or engaging investors.
Every element of the site was crafted to reflect the brand’s identity, clearly communicate its value, and guide visitors toward meaningful actions. Built in Webflow, the site gives the team flexibility to iterate and move fast, keeping pace with the evolving needs of the brand and its audience.
