Every successful board of directors requires the right mix of skills and expertise, along with high effectiveness to ensure a healthy dynamic and improved performance. The need for this product arose from a small group of consultants serving board members and top executives in leading European companies. Decades of industry experience were transformed into a digital product (web and mobile app), optimizing workflows. The main challenge was identifying processes for optimization or automation while ensuring the solution was visually appealing and highly user-friendly.

Through the structured set of exercises we managed to shape the product strategy from various perspectives. First, there was the operational part and how the data is collected. Next, it was important to plan how the data will be processed, how the system will apply business logic to the dataset and third, how results will be visualised. Design thinking exercises helped us to explore how activities in the process could be automated in the code.

After completing the Discovery phase, our design team began working on prototypes for two user roles: Consultant and Board Member. Based on their unique requirements, the product design included a web app for Consultants and a mobile app for Board Members. A key feature of the web app was the dashboard and metrics overview, offering users quick, clear visualizations of data to optimize workflows by automating repetitive tasks. Another critical component was the final report, where the team carefully balanced content and design to ensure clear and effective data visualization.

Our design team was integral part of the development process. We've provided guidance to the front end team in the design execution and explored solutions with the back end team during the iterations on the UX and UI. Business logic and rules defined in the Discovery phase dictated part of the decisions on the product design side. It was satisfying to, see sprint to sprint, how the vision and the design prototype are translated into reality in the code.
